We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced postdoctoral research fellow to join our team at the SUNY College of Optometry. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge research projects in vision science and contribute to the development of new treatments and technologies for eye and vision disorders.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct independent research in vision science, with a focus on basic or translational research
- Develop and implement research plans, including experimental design, data collection, and analysis
- Collaborate with faculty researchers and other postdoctoral fellows to advance research goals
- Present research findings at national and international conferences
- Contribute to the development of grant proposals and research manuscripts
- PhD in a relevant field (e.g. optometry, vision science, neuroscience, biology)
- At least 2 years of postdoctoral research experience
- Strong research background in vision science, with a focus on basic or translational research
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience with grant writing and research manuscript preparation
- Publication record in peer-reviewed journals
- Presentations at national and international conferences
- Experience working with diverse populations and communities
