Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team at Stormont Vail Health. As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of laboratory test results, which are essential for patient diagnosis and treatment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive and process laboratory specimens, ensuring they are properly labeled and stored.
  • Conduct laboratory tests and procedures, following established protocols and guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of laboratory results, including test data and patient information.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure timely and accurate communication of laboratory results.
  • Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure the accuracy and reliability of laboratory test results.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest laboratory techniques and technologies, and participate in ongoing education and training programs.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • 1 year of experience in a laboratory setting, preferably in a medical laboratory.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with healthcare professionals and patients.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of organization and prioritization skills.
Working Conditions

This is a full-time position, working 36 hours per week or greater. The shift is 12 hours per day, with rotating weekends and holidays. The work environment is a laboratory setting, with exposure to chemicals, biological agents, and other hazardous materials. The position requires standing, walking, and lifting, with occasional exposure to extreme temperatures and noise.
