Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Faculty, Open Rank to join our esteemed team at the University of Miami Health System. As a key member of our Cardiology department, you will play a vital role in the development and growth of our Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the ongoing development and growth of the Adult Heart Transplant and Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) program in collaboration with the Surgical Director of Heart Transplantation/LVAD and the Medical and Surgical Director of Transplant Services.
  • Develop and implement transplant policies, protocols, and practice guidelines for the program, ensuring high standards of practice and quality care.
  • Provide direct involvement in patient care, including evaluation of pre-transplant candidates, donor selection, and long-term post-transplant care for heart transplant and LVAD patients.
  • Develop a strategic plan to improve and maintain the flow of patients in the outpatient clinics, enhancing the quality of care for heart transplant and LVAD patients.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary teams, including M&M for the MTI, High Risk Selection Committee, and Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement Committee.
Requirements
  • Board certification in Medicine with a completed fellowship in Cardiology and underwent Transplant Fellowship or has held more than 5 years of transplant experience.
  • Member in good standing of the hospital staff.
  • Currently licensed to practice in Florida.
  • Minimum of five years clinical experience in Transplantation.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
  • Ability to accept and implement change.
  • Ability to problem-solving to make effective decisions.
