Diagnostic Medical Sonographer

UNC Health Care is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team at Rex Ultrasound. As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality diagnostic ultrasound services to our patients.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures, including assessment of patient history, documentation of anatomy and pathology, and producing and summarizing documentation of procedure findings.
  • Collaborate with physicians to generate preliminary clinical diagnoses and work with them to finalize diagnoses.
  • Provide ultrasound guidance for procedures, including sonohysterograms, CVS, amniocentesis, and fetal procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring that equipment and supplies are properly sterilized and stored.
  • Participate in regularly scheduled departmental ultrasound conferences and quality assurance unit updates to stay current with new developments in ultrasound findings and technology.
Requirements:
  • Completion of a 12-month program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or General Ultrasound.
  • RDMS registration by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or registry eligibility with the ability to become registered within one year from date of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.
