We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Surgeon to join our team at the US Veterans Health Administration. As a General Surgeon, you will be responsible for performing general surgical operations, outpatient ambulatory surgical procedures, and providing high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Perform general surgical operations and outpatient ambulatory surgical procedures
- Provide high-quality patient care, including pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care
- Conduct initial evaluations and overall workups of general surgery patients
- Inform patients of the risks and benefits of upcoming surgical procedures
- Enter notes electronically in a paperless medical record system
- Provide appropriate post-operative care
- Participate in peer review and quality improvement activities
- Committee membership
- Understand and abide by the Medical Bylaws of this facility
- United States Citizenship
- Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree from an accredited institution
- Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia
- Residency training in a core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification
- Proficiency in spoken and written English
- General Surgery Experience required
- Board Certification in Surgery preferred
Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, with hours may change based on the needs of the facility. On-call duties as required.
