At the Greater Cleveland Food Bank Inc, we are seeking a highly motivated and organized Bilingual Community Outreach Coordinator to support our mission of ensuring everyone in our communities has access to nutritious food. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in helping eligible clients apply for SNAP benefits and other public assistance programs through the Ohio Benefit State-wide software.

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and dedicated professional who can work effectively with clients, community partners, and staff to achieve our goals. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Traveling to various community locations to educate the public about SNAP benefits and other public assistance programs;
  • Screening clients one-on-one to determine their eligibility for these benefits;
  • Building partnerships with local organizations to increase awareness and access to public benefits;
  • Assisting clients with the application process for SNAP benefits and other public assistance programs;
  • Tracking applications and providing follow-up support to clients.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent;
  • A Bachelor's degree in a related field (such as education, social work, psychology) or one year of experience in a related field (community organizing, customer service, case management in a nonprofit setting);
  • Fluency in spoken and written Spanish;
  • Experience working with public benefit management software (preferable but not required);
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • A valid Ohio driver's license and proof of automobile insurance (mileage reimbursed).
Benefits and Salary

We offer a competitive salary range of $43,680 to $48,000 per year, depending on experience. Additionally, you will enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including paid time off, holiday pay, low-cost medical, dental, and vision insurance, and a generous retirement plan. We also offer opportunities for professional growth and development, including training and education programs.
