The Multimodality Technologist plays a critical role in delivering high-quality imaging services to patients in various settings, including ambulatory and hospital environments. Under the general supervision of a Radiologist, this professional performs imaging procedures in two or more disciplines, with a focus on advanced modalities such as CT, MR, Nuc Med, or IR.
Key Responsibilities- Perform high-quality multimodality procedures according to exam protocol and in a timely manner.
- Maintain production and quality of imaging procedures by following established standards and procedures.
- Utilize AIDET when communicating with patients to ensure correct exam is performed on the correct patient and establish rapport.
- Prepare patients and areas for procedures by positioning patients, adjusting immobilization devices, and setting up equipment.
- Protect patients and employees by adhering to safety requirements, infection-control policies, and radiation protocols.
- Graduate of an accredited program in radiologic technology.
- Less than 1 year of experience in radiologic technology.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire or transfer.
- Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) licensure by the State of Texas Medical Board, unless the role is MRI and Ultrasound.
- Certification in two imaging modalities, with 50% of time spent in the second modality.
