Position Overview: Reporting to the Practice Manager, the Vascular Imaging Specialist is responsible for conducting ultrasound examinations and procedures that require a high level of expertise and precision. This role focuses on vascular diagnostics and adheres to protocols established by the Radiologist to ensure optimal patient care.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Patient Interaction: Gather essential clinical history to assist the radiologist in interpreting ultrasound results. Communicate effectively with referring physicians and healthcare staff, and provide clear explanations of procedures to patients and their families.
  • Ultrasound Procedures: Perform a variety of ultrasound scans, including abdominal, Doppler, and vascular examinations, utilizing advanced ultrasound technology while adhering to established protocols and ensuring patient safety.
  • Vascular Studies: Conduct comprehensive vascular assessments, including arterial studies of upper and lower extremities. This involves measuring pulse volume, obtaining Doppler waveforms, and calculating indices to evaluate blood flow.
  • Assistance During Procedures: Support physicians during vascular interventions by maintaining a sterile environment, providing ultrasound guidance, and assisting with patient recovery and discharge instructions.
  • Operational Duties: Manage the daily operations of the clinic, including inventory control of ultrasound equipment and supplies, patient scheduling, and maintaining accurate records of services rendered.

Organizational Commitment: The Vascular Imaging Specialist is expected to participate in departmental meetings, complete mandatory training, and maintain all required certifications and licenses. Adherence to safety protocols and organizational policies is essential.

Qualifications: Candidates should possess a degree from an accredited ultrasound or radiology program, along with relevant certifications. Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills are necessary to excel in this role.

Physical Requirements: The position requires physical stamina to perform essential duties, including standing for extended periods and assisting patients as needed.
