Position Overview: Reporting directly to the Practice Manager, the Vascular Ultrasound Technician is responsible for conducting ultrasound examinations and procedures that necessitate independent judgment and a high level of precision. Utilizing advanced ultrasound technology, the focus will be on vascular assessments and diagnostics, adhering to protocols set forth by the Radiologist. The role emphasizes the delivery of exceptional patient care while collaborating with medical professionals.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Patient Interaction: Gather essential clinical history to assist the radiologist in interpreting ultrasound results. Communicate effectively with referring physicians and healthcare team members.
  • Procedure Execution: Conduct various ultrasound scans, including abdominal, Doppler, and vascular studies, following established protocols to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Technical Proficiency: Select appropriate ultrasound transducers and conductive materials to achieve the best imaging results while minimizing allergic reactions.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Assess patient conditions and respond to emergencies, including performing CPR and other necessary support procedures.
  • Vascular Studies: Execute a range of vascular examinations, including arterial studies, segmental pulse volume recordings, and Doppler waveform analysis, ensuring accurate measurements and evaluations.
  • Assistance in Procedures: Maintain a sterile environment, assist physicians during vascular interventions, and provide post-procedure care, including discharge instructions.
  • Operational Support: Manage inventory of ultrasound supplies, assist with patient scheduling, and maintain accurate records of services rendered.

Organizational Commitment: Adhere to all organizational policies and participate in mandatory training and meetings. Maintain licensure and certifications as required.

Qualifications: Candidates should possess relevant education and certification in ultrasound technology, with a focus on vascular imaging. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential for effective patient interaction and collaboration with healthcare teams.

Physical Requirements: The role demands physical stamina, including the ability to stand for extended periods and assist in patient mobility.
