As an intern at RSM, you will collaborate with a diverse range of companies, from small enterprises to large corporations, across various sectors. You will cultivate strong professional relationships with clients by gaining a deep understanding of their operations and challenges. Interns are engaged in multiple team projects throughout the year, contributing to various aspects of assignments rather than focusing on a single component. This collaborative team atmosphere encourages our associates to perform at their peak and harmonize their careers with their personal lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Integrating state and local tax services with our existing clientele.
  • Conducting tax planning and research assignments.
  • Gaining insight into state and local tax regulations and accounting standards.
  • Evaluating clients' current tax processes to identify inefficiencies and recommend enhancements to optimize their procedures and minimize tax liabilities.
  • Collaborating with clients' IT teams to gather historical purchasing and sales data for reporting requirements, audit processes, and potential refunds or credits.
  • Assisting clients in assessing sales/use tax software systems that align with their compliance needs and supporting the implementation phase.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Completion of 90 credit hours.
  • Pursuing a B.A. / B.S. degree or equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Major in Accounting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Willingness to travel to client locations; must have reliable transportation.
  • A minimum GPA of 3.0 is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Capacity to multitask in a dynamic environment.
