Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Programmer to join our team at The Atlas Group. As a CNC Programmer, you will be responsible for designing and creating NC programs for various products, including extrusion, forging, and casting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Create NC Programs: Develop and implement NC programs for 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis milling customer products, as well as extrusion products and large block HOGOUT products.
  • Expertise in CNC Programming: Display expertise in 4-axis horizontal mill machining programming and 5-axis mill machining programming with great efficiency.
  • Plan and Coordinate CNC Operations: Plan details of CNC related operation, including setup documentation and validation of NC programs prior to production use.
  • Troubleshoot and Optimize: Troubleshoot CNC programming related problems and optimize feed rate and spindle RPM for cost effectiveness.
  • Integrate New Technologies: Integrate improved and/or new cutting tool technology and participate in the improvement process by utilizing lean manufacturing methods.
Requirements
  • Computer Skills: Proficient in the use of CAD/CAM software.
  • Education/Experience: Minimum of eight years of full-time CAD/CAM programming experience, a strong aerospace precision metal working background, and the ability to support a fast-paced programming schedule with great NC programming accuracy and efficiency.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Knowledgeable in G-code, operating portable measuring equipment, and thorough understanding of machining processes.
