EHS Manager Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced EHS Manager to lead our safety programs and ensure compliance with government regulations. The successful candidate will have a strong background in safety management and be able to analyze and mitigate risks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Safety Programs: Plan, implement, and supervise all project safety, accident, and fire prevention programs to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Lead Safety Team: Direct the work of other Safety Managers and personnel to ensure effective safety management.
  • Analyze and Mitigate Risks: Analyze need and determine specifications for protective safety equipment, materials, and gear to minimize risks.
  • Conduct Site Evaluations: Conduct regular site evaluations, follow up and tracking of corrections to deficiencies to ensure compliance.
  • Enforce Safety Protocols: Enforce documentation on the proper training of employees and conduct in-house training on various health and safety related topics.
  • Compliance and Regulatory Management: Assist with OSHA inspections, compliance reviews, and other federal, state, or local agency reviews/inquiries to ensure organizational SH&E compliance.
  • Business Acumen and Strategic Thinking: Work with senior management, line management, and project teams to ensure organizations SH&E compliance and implement SH&E programs.
Requirements
  • Education and Certifications: Bachelor's Degree in a related field and industry-related professional certifications such as CSP, CHST, or CIH are strongly preferred.
  • Experience and Skills: 5 years of safety working experience in the Heavy Construction industry, thorough knowledge of applicable government regulations, safety compliance, and industrial hygiene, business acumen, strong analytical skills, and strategic thinking abilities.
  • Personal Qualities: Self-starter, team-focused professional, OSHA Outreach Trainer for the Construction Industry, CHST, and/or Certified Safety Professional certification, self-motivated, and ISO 45001 & 14001 knowledge.
