Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Facilities Operations Manager to join our team at Echostar's Hughes Network Systems division in Germantown, MD.

About the Role

This is a key leadership position responsible for managing the overall facilities operations, ensuring continuous and uninterrupted service. The ideal candidate will have 15 years of experience in building maintenance, HVAC, electrical, fire suppression, and detection systems, generators, and UPSs, as well as general maintenance and construction.

The successful candidate will be able to sit, stand, crawl, and climb ladders for extended periods, lift a minimum of 50 pounds, and work in all-weather environments, extreme heat, cold, snow, rain, noise, hazards, and atmospheric conditions indoors and outdoors.

Main Responsibilities
  • Establishes workplace procedures and policies, recommends preventative measures to ensure continuous and uninterrupted service.
  • Ensures compliance with State and Federal regulatory requirements, including OSHA, EPA, HAZMAT, and Health, Fire & Life Safety, working with internal Safety Teams.
  • Directs activities of workers engaged in 24x7 operation and maintenance of facilities.
  • Schedules and conducts frequent inspections of facilities, grounds, and equipment to determine need and extent of service, repair, and equipment required, and to ensure employee safety.
  • Inspects and ensures maintenance of security fence perimeter, entry gates, and surveillance systems.
  • Maintains accurate PMI documentation and works closely with Security teams.
  • Ensures overall maintenance of the site's appearance to meet company standards.
  • Manages and maintains grounds for snow removal, removal of weeds, care of lawns and ornamental plants, and erosion prevention/control.
