Medical Laboratory Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our team at Actalent. As a Medical Laboratory Scientist, you will be responsible for performing routine and complex technical procedures, monitoring and operating instrumentation, and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of test results.
Key Responsibilities- Specimen Acceptance: Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
- Technical Procedures: Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
- Instrumentation: Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
- Decision Making: Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem-solving.
- Reagent Preparation: Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls.
- Test Reporting: Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care.
- Quality Control: Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
- Supply Management: Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
- Specimen Processing: Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
- Work Environment: Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology or meet local regulatory (CLIA & State) requirements.
- Certification: ASCP Certified as MLT or MLS.
- Experience: Previous experience as a Medical Technologist/Technician is highly preferred.
- Skills: Ability to work independently and within a team environment, proficient with computers, and familiarity with laboratory information systems.
- Attention to Detail: High level of attention detail along with strong communication and organizational skills.
- Color Vision: Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen.
- Flexibility: Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs.
This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s). The schedule is Wednesday 9 AM to 1 PM, and Thursday and Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM.
