Modern Machinery is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Heavy Equipment Service Technician to join our team. As a key member of our service team, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing complex heavy equipment systems, ensuring our customers receive exceptional service and support.

Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems on Komatsu and other affiliated product lines.
  • Operate equipment as needed to assist in locating and diagnosing equipment failures.
  • Utilize hand and power tools, as well as electronic diagnostic equipment, to diagnose and repair equipment.
  • Read and interpret complex hydraulic and electrical schematics.
  • Perform diagnostic testing and tuning of equipment.
  • Assess parts to determine the cause of failure and/or their reusability.
  • Communicate with parts department personnel to order necessary parts.
  • Complete and submit assigned work order reports, time entry, and other paperwork daily.
  • Assist other technicians on large repairs or projects.
  • Attend and participate in training sessions.
Requirements
  • Minimum of two to three years of verifiable experience repairing heavy equipment.
  • Prior dealership experience is beneficial.
  • Experience with Komatsu as the primary equipment line is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work well independently or with others in a team environment.
  • Reliable, honest, and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to lift 75 lbs.
  • Ability to travel away from home.
