The EEE Parts Specialist will provide essential support for the JETS II contract. This role focuses on evaluating and recommending electronic components for space-related projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Report to the Electronics and Electrical Section Manager, collaborating with a team of engineers.
  • Deliver expert support on Electrical, Electronic, and Electromagnetic (EEE) components for NASA's xEVA Space Projects.
  • Assess proposed EEE Parts lists based on hardware criticality and environmental conditions.
  • Compile reports on manufacturers, materials, construction, usage, and reliability of selected components for the EEE parts control board.
  • Suggest alternative EEE components as necessary.
  • Assist in investigations related to EEE component failures.
  • Review military and industry specifications and standards relevant to NASA initiatives.
  • Contribute to the development of EEE part qualification plans and project-specific screening requirements.
  • Support the preparation and dissemination of NASA Advisories and GIDEP Alerts.
  • Work in a laboratory setting, adhering to standard operating procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:

This position is available at various levels based on experience and business needs.
  • U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident status is required due to the sensitivity of information.
  • A bachelor's degree in engineering is mandatory, along with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in design reviews, product development, failure investigations, and component recommendations is essential.
  • Familiarity with component selection, screening, qualification, and derating for space applications is required.
  • Experience providing technical support to material review boards is preferred.
  • Proficiency in supporting project teams with EEE-related documentation, including procurement specifications and source control drawings.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • This position operates on a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off.
  • Some travel may be necessary.
BACKGROUND CHECKS:

All employees must pass a national agency check, with some positions requiring an extensive background verification process.

DRUG AND ALCOHOL SCREENING:

All employees must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening; participation in periodic random drug and alcohol screening may be required for certain contracts.
