Electronics Design Engineer - Avionics Radiation Hardness Assurance Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Electronics Design Engineer to join our team at Mclaurin Aerospace. As an Avionics Radiation Hardness Assurance Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and safety of our electronic systems in space applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop electronic systems and components for avionics applications, ensuring compliance with radiation hardness assurance requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate electronic systems into larger avionics systems, ensuring seamless functionality and reliability.
  • Develop and implement radiation testing and analysis plans to ensure the reliability of electronic systems in space environments.
  • Work closely with engineers and technicians to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to electronic system performance and reliability.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in electronics design and radiation hardness assurance, applying this knowledge to improve our systems and processes.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 2-5 years of experience in electronics design and avionics radiation hardness assurance.
  • Strong understanding of radiation effects on electronic systems and components.
  • Experience with radiation testing and analysis, including heavy ion, proton, and pulsed-laser Single-Event Effects (SEE) testing.
  • Proficiency in LabVIEW and other relevant software tools.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of IPC J-STD-001, NASA-STD-8739, and ANSI/ESD S20.20 standards.
  • Experience with EEE parts and advanced packaging.
  • Proficiency in MS Office programs, particularly MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, OneNote, and Outlook.
