Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electronics Design Engineer to join our team as an Avionics Radiation Hardness Assurance Specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and performance of electronic systems in radiation environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement radiation testing and analysis plans for avionics systems
  • Collaborate with design engineers and project personnel to evaluate the performance of electronic hardware and assess the need to address impacts to functional, performance, and reliability metrics
  • Support program activities on behalf of subject matter experts by assessing relevance information with technical discussions to determine the need to request SME consideration, and then accurately conveying SME assessments back to program and project stakeholders
  • Make recommendations for design, process improvements, and data collection
  • Perform root-cause analysis of test failures and communicate recommended actions

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering and a minimum of 2-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area
  • Familiarity with systems engineering and integration (S&EI) and/or specialty engineering for NASA spaceflight (or similar complexity)
  • Knowledgeable in basic electronics design and capable of performing basic circuit analysis
  • Knowledgeable or have experience in performing electrical and mechanical fault analyses
  • Knowledgeable and experienced in IPC J-STD-001, NASA-STD-8739 and ANSI/ESD S20.20 Standards
  • Knowledgeable in EEE Parts and Advanced Packaging
  • Experience with test hardware such as oscilloscopes, multi-meters, logic analyzers, function generators, electronic load banks, power supplies, power analyzers
  • Prior experience with cable design for space applications
  • Proficient in MS Office programs, particularly MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, OneNote and Outlook
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills and the ability to work in a team environment
