Position Overview
The MIG Welder I is responsible for fabricating and repairing steel components utilizing specialized gas metal arc welding techniques and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
- Fabricates, joins, and repairs metal and other weldable materials using appropriate welding methods.
- Interprets technical drawings, specifications, and schematics to determine the correct welding processes.
- Conducts inspections of completed welds to ensure structural integrity.
- Adheres to all safety protocols and requirements.
- Prepares materials and sets up welding devices or robots as needed.
- May require completion of an apprenticeship or formal training in the specialty area.
- Supports safety and quality initiatives by following established rules and processes.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications
- Proficient in operating forklifts and cranes.
- Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints.
- Skilled in using various hand tools such as hammers, pliers, screwdrivers, wrenches, drills, grinders, and banders.
- Competent in using measuring instruments including tape measures, box calipers, slide dial calipers, and micrometers.
- Capable of converting fractions to decimals and vice versa, as well as metric to English measurements.
- Committed to delivering high-quality work to both internal and external customers.
- Capable of setting up and operating multiple processing machines.
- Strong attention to detail is essential.
- High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Must successfully pass a MIG welder certification.
- Relevant apprenticeship, experience, or vocational training is preferred.

Physical Requirements
Work may be performed in various environmental conditions, both indoors and outdoors, including exposure to:
- Changing temperatures, loud noises, and vibrations from equipment.
- Hazards such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, high heat, or chemicals.
- Atmospheric conditions that may affect the respiratory system or skin, including fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation.
- Oils and cutting fluids that may cause air and/or skin exposure.
