About the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour:

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was established in 2007 to provide young golfers aged 8-18 with the chance to compete on outstanding courses in a professional setting. Our mission is to deliver exceptional hospitality and ensure every event is unforgettable. Open to both male and female participants, the HJGT stands as the largest junior golf tour globally, hosting more 2-day nationally ranked tournaments than any other organization.

Position Overview:

This role involves overseeing training, assessments, and quality assurance for all HJGT events. You will manage all tournament directors and interns, requiring strong leadership and management skills. The fast-paced nature of this position demands excellent multitasking capabilities and constant communication with team members to ensure success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain relationships with golf courses, ensuring all communications are handled within a 120-day window.
  • Conduct evaluations of tournament directors as necessary, visiting events throughout the year and providing feedback.
  • Oversee tournament setup and breakdown processes.
  • Hold weekly meetings with the executive team to review progress and ensure all tasks are completed by the week's end.
  • Manage checklists for each event to ensure all items are accounted for.
  • Calculate and report weekly items for team meetings.
  • Administer monthly incentives for tournament directors.
  • Travel monthly to events for evaluations and oversight.
  • Delegate administrative tasks to tournament directors for efficient operations.
  • Track and manage performance metrics for tournament directors.
  • Implement onsite marketing and sponsorship initiatives.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and safety protocols for all transportation vehicles.
  • Oversee inventory management for all teams, ensuring quality and quantity for events.
  • Process expense reports for tournament directors and submit them monthly.
  • Lead weekly staff meetings and distribute minutes to all team members.
  • Enforce all tour policies, including those related to accommodations and conduct.
  • Manage budgets for associate meals at events.
  • Coordinate staff meals for various event days.
  • Prepare tournament yardages well in advance of events.
  • Ensure timely updates to event information pages.
  • Manage schedules and hours for tournament directors and interns.
  • Submit rankings and points after each event.
  • Oversee yardages, ratings, and slopes for all tournaments.
  • Verify tee times are released and communicated effectively.
  • Continuously improve the intern training manual.
  • Handle results submissions and points distributions.
  • Conduct post-event surveys and report findings.
  • Facilitate regular one-on-one meetings with team members.
  • Assist with intern recruitment and interviews.
  • Manage event dashboards and provide weekly updates to leadership.
  • Monitor communication channels for quality assurance.
  • Handle staffing changes as necessary.
  • Innovate new methods for event management.
  • Oversee contractor relationships.
  • Plan the operations calendar well in advance.
  • Manage inventory for tournament registration items.
  • Communicate with incoming intern teams prior to their start dates.
  • Assist with logistical arrangements for operational teams.
  • Provide support during emergencies at events.
  • Conduct training sessions for interns and staff.
  • Generate leads during events.
  • Complete miscellaneous tasks as assigned by leadership.
  • Contribute to long-term projects aimed at advancing the brand.
  • Be available for operational emergencies as the primary contact.
  • Perform additional duties as required by leadership.

Success Metrics:

  • Achieve a minimum of 92% positive feedback on participant surveys.
  • Ensure 20% of participants complete surveys.
  • Maintain 100% completion of item checklists weekly.
  • Generate at least two sales leads per event for business development.
  • Rebook 97% of events successfully.
  • Maintain an average pace of play of 4 hours and 30 minutes per tournament.
  • Communicate effectively with golf courses regarding field sizes.
  • Supervise 6-7 tournament directors, ensuring accountability and performance.
  • Reduce turnover through effective management of tournament directors.

Due to the dynamic nature of the events industry, the successful candidate may be required to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to meet the operational needs of the organization.
