Position Overview:

The Senior Vice President of Store Launch Operations plays a crucial role in spearheading the company's growth initiatives as part of Burlington's strategic expansion plan.

With an ambitious goal of opening 100 new locations each year, this position requires a visionary leader to oversee approximately 140 store openings annually, which includes relocations and closures.

This executive will manage a variety of pre-opening processes involving construction, information technology, accounts payable, staffing, and merchandising to guarantee a seamless launch.

Working closely with the Senior Vice President of New Store Delivery & Market Strategy, this role necessitates utilizing industry knowledge and a strong enthusiasm for retail growth to ensure successful store openings.

Strong leadership will facilitate effective collaboration among departments such as IT, Merchandising, Operations, and Human Resources, establishing high expectations from the beginning.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Direction: Formulate and execute a thorough strategy for new store development that aligns with the company's long-term objectives.
  • Leadership in Implementation: Provide expert oversight to guarantee successful and complex store openings with minimal interruptions.
  • Creative Problem Solving: Anticipate challenges and implement effective, sustainable solutions.
  • Ongoing Enhancement: Create feedback systems for process improvement and cost-effectiveness.
  • Strategic Coordination: Collaborate on refining organizational strategies based on insights gained from store openings.

As a vital member of the leadership team, the Senior Vice President will exemplify excellence and innovation, in line with Burlington's mission and values.

Additional duties include integrating field leadership, engaging stakeholders, fostering cross-functional collaboration, managing milestones, and developing immersive experiences.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience: Over 10 years in relevant positions.
  • Skills and Competencies: Proven cross-functional leadership, exceptional communication abilities, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, experience with new store openings, proficiency in data analysis, and capability to lead and ensure accountability for actions taken, with a knack for identifying root causes of issues.

This role requires approximately 40% travel, particularly during store opening phases.
