Responsibilities:
The Food Service Associate at CommonSpirit Health plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our culinary services. Key responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing production sheets to ascertain the type and quantity of cold food items required for preparation.
  • Following established recipes and production records to maintain efficient operations in the trayline, cafeteria, and other service areas.
  • Utilizing various kitchen utensils and equipment, including food processors, blenders, mixers, slicers, steamers, and choppers, to prepare food items.
  • Assisting with patient trayline duties as necessary.
  • Adhering to Standard Operating Procedures for food handling and storage.
  • Supporting the workflow in kitchen operations and food supply distribution as directed.
  • Maintaining cleanliness, proper care, and sanitation of work areas, equipment, and supplies.
  • Notifying supervisors of any issues or needs related to equipment, food supply, sanitation, and safety.
  • Identifying and reporting spoiled or unappealing food or supplies.
  • Upholding established departmental policies and procedures to ensure quality assurance, safety, and infection control.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Ability to move swiftly between tasks independently.
  • Effective communication skills with peers, staff, and supervisors.
  • Capability to comprehend and follow instructions accurately.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and understanding written and verbal instructions in English.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in food service is advantageous.
