Job Title: Unit Charge Nurse, Oncology

At Emory Healthcare, we are committed to providing exceptional patient care and a supportive work environment for our nurses. As a Unit Charge Nurse in our Oncology department, you will play a critical role in leading our team of healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, coordinate, and direct the daily operations of a specific shift on a clinical unit.
  • Supervise staff and facilitate communication with physicians and internal administrators to provide optimal patient and family-centered care.
  • Identify the need for revision and evaluate the effectiveness of operational forms.
  • Provide and coordinate the resources needed within the unit to provide optimal patient outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance and adherence with stated policies and procedures for the unit.
  • Remain informed of innovative clinical trends through benchmarking and evidence-based practice.
  • Role model delegation skills to colleagues and assist them in effective delegation utilizing the Synergy model for care.
  • Address escalated patient issues and refer issues to Unit Director or Patient Advocate when unable to resolve.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
  • Two years experience as an RN with a minimum of two years of experience in the area of concentration.
  • Must have a valid, active unencumbered Nursing license or temporary permit approved by the Georgia Licensing Board.
  • Certification preferred.
  • BLS required and ACLS may be required in designated departments.
