Position Summary
As an Intravenous Compounding Specialist at AmeriPharma, your primary responsibility will be to prepare and compound intravenous medications under the guidance of a licensed pharmacist, ensuring the safe and precise formulation of IV medications for patient care.
Work Schedule
- In-Person role.
- Standard hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
Key Responsibilities
- IV Medication Compounding: Accurately measure and mix medications, sterile solutions, and additives following established protocols to maintain a sterile environment.
- Labeling and Packaging: Ensure all compounded IV medications are properly labeled with essential information such as patient name, medication details, dosage, and expiration date.
- Inventory Oversight: Monitor and manage inventory levels of IV medications, including ordering and restocking supplies as necessary.
- Quality Assurance: Adhere to quality control standards to guarantee the accuracy and safety of compounded medications, including conducting product quality tests and regular inspections.
- Environmental Management: Participate in maintaining environmental controls and documentation related to compounding practices.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all compounding activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Additional Duties: Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor, including cross-training opportunities.
- Prescription Entry: Accurately input prescription information into the pharmacy's computer system.
- Refill Management: Organize and manage patient refill schedules to ensure seamless patient care.
