Job Summary:
We are looking for a Pharmacist to compound and dispense prescribed medications, drugs, and other pharmaceuticals for patient care. The successful candidate will have a strong background in pharmacy practice and excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review prescriptions issued by physicians or other authorized prescribers to ensure accuracy and determine formulas and ingredients needed.
- Compound medications using standard formulas and processes, including weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients.
- Direct pharmacy workers engaged in mixing, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals.
- Provide information to pharmacy customers on drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and storage of pharmaceuticals.
- Maintain established procedures concerning quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and disposal of hazardous waste.
- Enter data into pharmacy files, charge system, and inventory.
- Assay medications to determine identity, purity, and strength.
- Instruct interns and other medical personnel on matters pertaining to pharmacy.
Requirements:
- Master's Degree in Pharmacy and 2-3 years' experience.
- Registration with the Board of Pharmacy.
