Position Overview

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for a specific group of patients.

This role involves coordinating and actively participating as a vital member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team, ensuring the efficient operation of the unit and fostering positive patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

1. Maintain professional and technical expertise by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional literature, and engaging in professional networks.

2. Ensure quality care by adhering to established therapeutic standards, measuring health outcomes against patient care goals, and making necessary adjustments in line with regulatory standards.

3. Safeguard patients and staff by following infection control protocols, medication administration guidelines, and controlled substance regulations.

4. Document patient care services accurately in patient and departmental records.

5. Promote continuity among nursing teams by effectively communicating actions, irregularities, and ongoing needs.

6. Establish a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients and their families.

7. Encourage patient independence by setting care goals and educating patients and families about their conditions and self-care practices.

8. Maintain a safe and clean working environment by adhering to established procedures and regulations.

9. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to resolve patient issues and needs.

10. Contribute to team efforts by achieving related results as necessary.

Specialized Functions

1. Demonstrate the ability to interpret and manage arrhythmias.

2. Review and analyze rhythm strips.

3. Administer appropriate treatments for arrhythmias following established protocols.

4. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

1. Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program is required.

2. Strong leadership, organizational, independent, and critical thinking skills.

3. Excellent communication skills for conveying complex topics to diverse audiences.

4. A refresher nursing course may be necessary if the candidate has not worked in an acute care setting for the past three consecutive years.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is preferred.

2. One year of experience in medical/surgical, PCU, or Critical Care settings.

Licensure and Certifications

1. Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the relevant state is required.

2. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from an approved program is required.

3. Additional clearances and certifications may be required.

Work Environment

This position may require flexibility in scheduling based on operational needs, including rotating shifts and on-call duties.
