Job Overview

PALS, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities in achieving their goals and needs.

Our ideal candidate is someone who has experience working with individuals who may be experiencing socio-emotional difficulties due to intellectual disability. You will enjoy a challenge and have prior experience working with individuals who have experienced trauma and may exhibit behavior excesses and limitations.

Responsibilities
  • Promote growth, socialization, and independence of the individual
  • Ability to maintain professionalism during an assaultive or acting out individual
  • Daily documentation of individual behavior
  • Skill-building to ensure the individual is engaged in daily activities
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and healthy environment
  • Attend staff meetings and participate in training
  • Go above and beyond with the individual and staff
  • Work with more than one individual
Requirements
  • Minimum High School Diploma
  • Experience is highly desirable – plus 1 year
  • Reliable transportation (Employer vehicle provided as well)
  • Valid Driver's License and Auto Insurance
  • Must pass background check
  • TB Clearance/Drug Test
