Job Title: Direct Support Professional

Redwood Family Care Network is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional to join our team. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities to live fulfilling lives.

Job Summary:

The Direct Support Professional will provide person-centered support to individuals with developmental disabilities, promoting their health, safety, and well-being. This includes assisting with daily living tasks, supporting individuals in their daily routines, and advocating for their needs and goals.

Responsibilities:
  • Support individuals with developmental disabilities in their daily living tasks, such as personal care, meal preparation, and household chores.
  • Develop and implement daily routines and activities that promote the health, safety, and well-being of individuals.
  • Assist individuals in accessing community resources and services, such as medical care, education, and recreation.
  • Provide emotional support and advocacy for individuals, promoting their independence and self-advocacy skills.
  • Collaborate with other professionals, such as therapists and healthcare providers, to ensure individuals receive comprehensive support.
  • Document and report incidents, accidents, and concerns in a timely and accurate manner.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least 1 year of experience in caregiving or a related field preferred.
  • Direct Support Professional Certificate and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training preferred.
  • First Aid and CPR certification preferred.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid California Driver's License required.
