Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Cyber Engineer to join a long-term federal program, supporting the Defense Intelligence Agency to manage and maintain DoD Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS). This role is fully onsite, requiring 5 days on site weekly, in either College Park Maryland, Reston Virginia, or Joint Base Anacostia–Bolling. The Cyber Engineer's responsibilities include developing solutions to maintain secure enterprise computer systems, network defense familiarity, and implementing layered defense and zero trust technologies to prevent cyber threats.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement secure network architectures to protect against advanced cyber threats.
  • Develop and maintain compliance with security standards and policies.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and mitigate security risks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security into the development lifecycle.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience managing and maintaining DoD ACAS with privileged and elevated access.
  • Proficiency in Windows and Linux environments, including server management and configuration.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity best practices and compliance frameworks (STIGs, SCAP).
  • Education and experience: HS diploma or GED with 7+ years, Associate's degree with 5+ years, Bachelor's degree with 3+ years, or Master's degree with 1+ year in cyber engineering projects.
  • DoD M IAT Level II Certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, GSEC, SSCP, CySA+, GICSP, or CND).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with cloud security, including AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Knowledge of big data analytics, machine learning, and anomaly detection.
  • Skilled with Zero-Trust Architecture and DevSecOps principles.
  • Familiar with Gigamon, Ansible, Encase, and VMWare tools.
  • Experience with CI/CD, IaC and CaC, ITIL, and IT Service Management.
