Software Development Architect

At Waymo, we're revolutionizing transportation by developing autonomous driving technology. As a key member of our team, you'll contribute to the development of cutting-edge simulator solutions that enable us to drive millions of miles on public roads and tens of billions in simulation.
About the Role:
- Design and implement long-term architecture and software features to fit the product for an increasing number of internal customers.
- Craft a seamless experience of how our product can fit into the Waymo eval tooling ecosystem.
- Pioneer novel ways to improve the driving realism of Waymo simulation.
- Ensure scalability and reliability of the product.
- Mentor senior engineers in the team.
Your Background:
- Hands-on experience building popular user-facing products (internal or external).
- Backend knowledge, including workflows, databases, SQL, and production monitoring.
- Strong design and coding skills in C++ or Python.
We Prefer:
- 5+ years of experience.
- Previous Technical Lead experience.
- Experience working on full-stack projects or collaborating with front-end engineers.
Compensation:
The estimated annual salary range for this position is $226,000 - $286,000 USD. Our employees also participate in a discretionary annual bonus program, equity incentive plan, and generous company benefits program.
