GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

The PRS Case Manager (Level II) is expected to possess expertise in trauma-informed care, child welfare methodologies, and case management. Proficiency in drafting comprehensive and professional assessment reports is essential. The Case Manager should be well-versed in local social services, community outreach, and have experience engaging with diverse populations. Knowledge in family preservation and kinship care is crucial, along with a proven track record of connecting and collaborating with local resource providers to deliver post-release services for children and their sponsors.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
  • Oversee an assigned caseload of post-release services (Levels I & II). May assist in preparing comprehensive home study reports to evaluate risk, safety, and suitable placement for children.
  • Adhere to US and ORR policies, procedures, and mandated timelines.
  • Collaborate with care providers to verify and assess if additional information is required for successful sponsorship.
  • Evaluate the prospective sponsor's capacity to provide adequate care and a secure living environment for the child.
  • Identify, verify, and recommend areas where additional support, resources, or information may be necessary to fulfill a child's needs and ensure a safe environment.
  • Maintain regular telephone contact and conduct virtual and in-person home visits with children and sponsors.
  • Utilize trauma-focused approaches and brief therapeutic techniques to engage with children and their sponsors.
  • Provide ongoing case management services through assessments, planning, evaluation, facilitation, and psychoeducation for children and their sponsors.
  • Ensure proper documentation, safeguard confidential records, and protect personally identifiable information in accordance with program regulations.
  • Identify and report concerns related to children and sponsors, significant life events, and incidents to the program and ORR. Act as a mandated reporter for abuse/neglect to child protective services.
  • Participate in training, meetings, and maintain quality improvement initiatives as recommended.
  • This role necessitates travel for in-person home studies and post-release visits in various locations across the United States, including potential evening and weekend work to meet required timelines.
  • Perform related duties as assigned, which may be revised as needed to meet program requirements.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE and/or REQUIREMENTS TO BE CONSIDERED
  • A Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) or an equivalent degree in education, psychology, sociology, or another behavioral science or social service field, with at least 1 year of case management experience.
  • Proficient in writing detailed and professional assessment reports, with experience working with immigrant populations and providing trauma-informed clinical interventions for youth.
  • Knowledgeable in family preservation, kinship care, trauma-informed practices, child welfare policies and procedures, and relevant state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with families, caseworkers, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish (verbal/written).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and data entry systems.
  • A valid driver's license and availability for travel to conduct in-person visits in various regions nationally.

WORK CONDITIONS
