Position Summary

As a CNC Machining Specialist at VulcanForms, you will be responsible for developing production methodologies and CNC programming for our manufactured components. Your role will encompass New Product Introduction and the ongoing enhancement of existing products. You will leverage cutting-edge technology, advanced machining techniques, and LEAN manufacturing principles to enhance quality while minimizing cycle times and costs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize solid models and detailed schematics from Creo or Mastercam to create work holding and tooling solutions.
  • Develop CNC programs using the latest Mastercam software.
  • Validate programs to ensure they are ready for production.
  • Assist in executing OQ/PQ activities as necessary for the processes/products.
  • Create comprehensive work instructions as required.
  • Provide operational support through problem-solving and troubleshooting.
  • Maintain configuration management by appropriately naming and saving electronic files and programs.
  • Complete assignments and projects with minimal oversight.
  • Contribute positively to team dynamics by achieving results collaboratively.
  • Adhere to VulcanForms' Quality Management System (QMS) and OSHA safety standards.
  • Encourage the implementation of our 7S and LEAN methodologies.
  • Be open to suggestions for continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in CNC programming.
  • Proficient in 3D modeling using Mastercam.
  • Extensive knowledge of CNC machining processes (milling, turning, grinding, EDM).
  • Expertise in blueprint interpretation, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GDT), and dimensional inspection.
  • Solid understanding of work-holding design employing SMED techniques.
  • Strong decision-making skills with the ability to make sound judgments.
  • Technical proficiency and mechanical aptitude.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and thoroughness.
  • Ability to identify and implement quality improvements.
  • Willingness to apply feedback for performance enhancement.
