Job Summary

Moyer & Son Inc is seeking a skilled Pool Service Technician to join our team. As a Pool Service Technician, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of tasks to repair and maintain pools and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work from service orders, verbal instructions, and manuals to remove, repair, and install pool equipment and pool systems.
  • Provide customer instruction on operating pool equipment, maintaining quality pool conditions, or explaining pool services.
  • Repair concrete, covers, skimmers, vacuum, and pumps.
  • Replace filters, sand, valves, pipes, or hoses.
  • Clean pools and equipment.
  • Install drains and new skimmers.
  • Follow prescribed procedures to open or close pools for seasonal use.
  • Drive company vehicle to customer sites and deliver materials and supplies.
  • Assist other employees with installations, large repairs, and heavy equipment.
  • Maintain adequate supply of parts and materials for assigned calls.
  • Write reports and records of service calls, parts used, and time spent for billing purposes.
  • Use authorized hand and power tools, company vehicle, and other department equipment.
  • Observe all company rules, including safety, quality, and clean work areas.
  • Complete or assist with any and all company duties as requested.
Secondary Responsibilities
  • Perform other duties as requested to meet business conditions.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Responsible for own work or occasionally for one (1) person.
Qualifications
  • High School Graduate or general education degree (GED); over one year, up to and including three years related experience and/or training: or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
  • Must have the ability to read and write the English language.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
Mathematical Skills
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability
  • Use of some judgment to comply with pool service for repairs and maintenance involving the making of minor decisions.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations
  • Person must have/maintain a valid PA drivers license.
  • Safety Sensitive position due to driving company vehicle and use of chemicals.
Physical Demands
  • Use moderate physical activity.
  • Occasionally lifting/moving heavy material.
  • Frequent mental and visual attention where the flow of work is intermittent, with some checking.
  • 40 Hour work-week. (not guaranteed)
  • Overtime in peak season.
Work Environment
  • Somewhat disagreeable working conditions.
  • Exposed to heat, cold, odors, dampness, and other elements with one continuously present to the extent of being objectionable.
  • Non-smoking in Company buildings and on customer property.
