Your Role
The Associate Process Engineer, Biomaterials will play a vital role in the post-processing of 3D printed scaffolds, ensuring their successful integration into the Tissue Engineering Team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the post-processing of 3D printed scaffolds, including surface modifications and preparation for cell attachment.
- Support the design, fabrication, testing, and documentation of bioreactor systems and related disposables for tissue engineering applications.
- Implement established procedures to evaluate new chemical formulations for 3D printing, specifically for lung scaffolds, and assess the mechanical and physical properties of the scaffolds.
- Collaborate with the cell team to facilitate cell attachment studies.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in biomedical, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, bioengineering, or a related field.
- At least 1 year of experience in an engineering research and development setting.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in working in a hands-on laboratory environment with a keen attention to detail and adherence to good laboratory practices.
- Experience with quality systems and medical product design.
- Demonstrated versatility in related disciplines such as mechanical or chemical engineering, materials science, or chemistry.
