POSITION SUMMARY

We are in search of a Senior Vice President of Cloud Operations, ideally located in the United States. This pivotal leadership position is responsible for the strategic oversight, execution, and management of our cloud infrastructure and Software as a Service (SaaS) operations. The SVP will ensure the reliability, availability, and scalability of our cloud services, upholding our dedication to delivering outstanding service to our clientele. This role will lead a team of Site Reliability Engineers (SREs), infrastructure specialists, and network operations professionals, while collaborating with various departments to promote operational excellence and innovation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Direct the Cloud Operations team, including SREs, infrastructure, data centers, and network operations, cultivating a high-performance culture focused on continuous improvement and superior service delivery.
  • Guarantee the reliability, availability, and scalability of our cloud infrastructure by implementing industry best practices and leveraging advanced technologies while ensuring operational security.
  • Oversee and optimize cloud expenditures, ensuring effective resource utilization and adherence to budgetary constraints.
  • Collaborate with product development teams to facilitate the deployment and management of SaaS solutions.
  • Manage incident response, ensuring prompt resolution of issues and effective communication with stakeholders.
  • Foster innovation within cloud operations by exploring new technologies and methodologies to enhance service delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess and report on the effectiveness of cloud operations.
  • Develop and manage comprehensive Service Level Objectives (SLOs), Service Level Indicators (SLIs), and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to ensure our cloud services consistently meet and exceed client expectations.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements impacting cloud operations.
  • Mentor engineering teams, serving as a technical subject matter expert across various departments.
  • Ensure seamless progress and transitions throughout all stages of product development.
  • Remain updated on next-generation technologies and share insights with the leadership team.
  • Promote technical and operational excellence by developing metrics and evaluation methods for continuous improvement.
  • Implement a strategy to achieve 99.999% uptime for all SaaS products and services.
  • Negotiate global contracts with vendors and partners.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Over 15 years of professional experience in an engineering management or leadership capacity.
  • Technical expertise in Kubernetes, containerization, and NoSQL environments.
  • Proven experience achieving 99.99% uptime in SaaS environments.
  • Strong technical background in managing colocation data centers and experience with cloud computing technologies and providers such as AWS, Azure, GCP, or OCI.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large-scale infrastructure projects in both colocation and cloud environments, ensuring optimal performance, security, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Excellent strategic planning, problem-solving, and project management capabilities.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and guide teams while effectively engaging with stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of compliance frameworks and industry standards relevant to cloud security, operations, and data center management.
  • Experience in CI/CD pipeline design, implementation, and architecture.
  • Previous management experience and familiarity with agile software development methodologies.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience achieving 99.999% uptime.
  • Familiarity with PKI systems and infrastructure.
  • Experience in cryptography and secure cybersecurity environments.
