About the Role

St. Joseph Humboldt County is seeking a skilled Palliative Care Physician to join our team. As a Palliative Care Physician, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate care to patients with serious illnesses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide palliative care services to patients with serious illnesses, focusing on pain and symptom management, and improving quality of life.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, social workers, and other healthcare professionals, to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical, emotional, and spiritual needs, and develop effective treatment plans to address these needs.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure that patients' needs are met and that their care is coordinated.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research, guidelines, and best practices in palliative care, and apply this knowledge to improve patient outcomes.
Requirements
  • Board certification or eligibility in Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
  • Completion of a fellowship program in Palliative Medicine.
  • Experience in palliative care, preferably in a hospital or healthcare system setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
