Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Ophthalmic Assistant to join our REMARKABLE Eye Care Team at UW Hospital and Clinics. As a key member of our team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support our ophthalmologists in delivering high-quality eye care services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform visual testing and examinations to assess patients' eye health
  • Provide a safe and comforting environment for patients of all ages
  • Work collaboratively with our ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive eye care services
Requirements
  • High school degree or equivalent required; completion of an accredited Ophthalmic/Optometric program or Certified Medical Assistant program preferred
  • Minimum 6 months of customer service experience; 1 year of experience as a Certified Ophthalmic/Optometric Assistant or Tech, Certified Medical Assistant, or Licensed Practical Nurse preferred
  • Ability to obtain COA, COT, CPOT, or CPOA certification within 18 months of hire; CPR certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire
