Job Title: Quality Engineer

Leer Group East is seeking a highly skilled Quality Engineer to join our team. As a Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for leading quality tasks, working with the Warranty Department on customer issues, testing and implementation of processes and procedures, and ensuring that our products meet specified requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and sustain an effective quality management system.
  • Monitor the quality system through internal audits.
  • Oversee the effective documentation and compliance of Leer East's quality management system.
  • Work with department supervisors to ensure that employees are trained properly in quality procedures and work instructions.
  • Maintain a corrective action system to analyze and correct nonconforming conditions and complaints.
  • Track quality metrics to effectively evaluate defects and trends in product quality and implement improvement efforts.
  • Support and adhere to Company's core values.
  • Create inspection instructions and guidelines.
  • Test incoming gel coat.
  • Effectively collaborate and communicate with others.
  • Continual Improvement Process, encompassing root cause analysis, improvement measurements, corrective actions, Pareto charts, and standard postings for improvements.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, and/or Quality Control.
  • 3-5 years minimum experience in ISO 9001:2000, QS900, and/or TL 16949.
  • Five to seven years of quality control experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Background in Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • Working knowledge of PPAPs, FMEA, and APQP.
  • ASQ (CQE, CQA, and CQM) certifications are a strong asset.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in all areas of quality control and operations.
  • Experience with quality improvement tools and techniques.
  • Demonstrated leadership, project management, facilitation, communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
Work Environment:

The work environment is a manufacturing facility with moderate noise levels, moderate to severe fumes and gases, and warm to hot temperatures on occasion.

This is a full-time permanent position.
