Job Summary

This position is responsible for providing HIM support in maintaining the Department's paper and electronic health record system. The incumbent must be able to communicate clearly and effectively in the English language; work in a fast-paced environment; and develop sound professional working relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Document Imaging: Prepping, scanning, quality review/validation/indexing of medical records.
  • HIM Specialist: Responsible for functions such as prepping, scanning, and/or QX/Indexing within Document Imaging to ensure records are prepped, scanned, and QC/Indexed into the Document Management Solution/EMR in a timely manner.
  • Document Chart Analysis: Analyze medical records for completion; assign and reassign provider deficiencies as needed in accordance with regulatory guidelines and in compliance with facility timely completion policy.
  • Chart Pick up and Reconciliation: Maintain productivity metrics and time for productivity monitoring.
  • Customer Service: Answer phones, process continuity of care requests, record retrieval, record filing.
Requirements
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Two (2) years' experience in a hospital Health Information Management department.
  • Skills: PC skills, customer orientation, privacy and security, vital statistics, organization, quality orientation, and work independently.
Work Environment

The work environment is a pleasant inside environment with light physical effort. The ideal candidate will have previous Health Information Management experience.
