About the Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Information Technology Technician to join our team at the United States Bankruptcy Court and the United States Probation Office for the Eastern District of Kentucky.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day end user support and assist with training staff in MS Office 365 Suite, MS Active Directory, Adobe Acrobat, MS Edge, Google Chrome, and national/locally-developed applications.
  • Respond to helpdesk calls, emails, and service requests submitted through the internal helpdesk ticketing system.
  • Distribute and install new hardware, including PC hardware, laptops, printers, IP phones, and mobile devices. Track equipment using internal inventory application.
  • Provide support for mobile technology and remote access. Provide general hardware maintenance, upgrades, and repairs.
  • Install and configure new software applications. Troubleshoot routine hardware and software problems. Assist IT staff with the maintenance of national and locally developed applications.
  • Provide assistance with IT-related upgrades for cabling, internet protocol telephony, video conferencing, and courtroom technology.
  • Ensure complete installs of system updates and security patches.
Requirements
  • At least one year of specialized experience or completion of a bachelor's degree.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience using Information Technology systems to perform tasks, manage information, and provide customer service.
  • Progressively responsible experience with information technology systems that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.
