Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Lines Client Service Specialist to join our team at Marshall & Sterling St. Thomas Inc. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional service to our clients, building strong relationships, and driving business growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Client Service: Provide top-notch service to our clients, responding promptly to their inquiries and addressing their individual needs for our products and services.
  • Policy Review and Enhancement: Review policies to identify areas for improvement and upgrade, and follow through with clients via email or phone.
  • Underwriting and Risk Management: Apply industry standards when underwriting individual risks to ensure they meet our agency standards and those of the insurance companies we represent.
  • Business Development: Secure applications for clients for all available coverages to generate comparable quotations for the companies we represent.
  • Account Management: Manage all account transactions, including endorsements, binders, cancellations, ID cards, and correspondence, and review policies for accuracy and update the system in accordance with workflow procedures.
  • Transaction Processing: Process transactions with attention to detail and in a timely manner.
  • Cancellation and Retention: Review all cancellation requests from clients to determine a course of action, and make contact with the client within three days of receipt if there is an opportunity to retain the business.
  • Follow-ups and Referrals: Timely follow-ups on company and client suspense/task diaries, and treat every service contact as an opportunity for account rounding, upgrading current coverage, and obtaining referrals.
  • Industry Knowledge and Accreditation: Stay current on changes in the insurance industry and maintain a file on pertinent information received from insurance companies, and maintain professional accreditation necessary to meet industry and agency standards.
  • Communication and Confidentiality: Communicate with clients regularly, be mindful to thank them for their business, and maintain confidentiality in all aspects of clients, staff, and agency information.
  • Team Collaboration and Mentorship: Build and maintain excellent and professional work relationships with other staff members, and mentor other team members.
  • Documentation and Compliance: Document all conversations with clients and carriers, and adhere to workflow procedures and follow guidelines to reduce the risk of E&O claims.
