About the Role

This position is a key part of our software engineering team, focusing on the design, implementation, and creation of automation test cases for embedded and systems software. Our product involves a networked cluster of embedded systems providing compute resources, wireless communication, video capture, and wired networking on a custom hardware platform.

Key Responsibilities
  • Learn about our distributed sensor network and its applications in the retail space.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of our controller software and ecosystem, including our code base.
  • Gain expertise in writing application and systems code for embedded devices, working on embedded Linux systems.
  • Contribute to debugging and resolving issues during customer deployment.
  • Take ownership of software modules and demonstrate responsibility for their development.
  • Collaborate closely with team members from various engineering disciplines, participating in all stages of the engineering process.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering.
  • Proficiency in C, C++, and Python.
  • Strong understanding of real-time operating systems, computer architecture, networking, and wireless communication systems.
  • Expertise in building platforms for system software and MAC Layer software.
  • Experience working on ARM platforms and Linux Operating Systems.
  • Deep understanding of real-time operating systems, inter-process communications, memory management, and low-level routines.
  • Ability to contribute to planning future generations of the product.
  • Collaboration skills with team members from other engineering disciplines.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in at least one wireless technology: RFID, Wi-Fi, LTE, or BLE.
  • Experience with Boost.ASIO.
  • Familiarity with Golang and ability to work effectively with the language.
  • Experience with Yocto and ability to utilize it to build systems.
  • Hands-on experience in projects related to wireless controllers/gateways.
