Job Summary:

The Referral Triage Coordinator at Baptist Health Care is responsible for coordinating, placing, and following up on patient appointments for multiple physicians in various specialties. This role requires strong communication and organizational skills to effectively manage multiple phone lines, prioritize calls, and triage cases under pressure.

Key Responsibilities:

* Coordinates patient appointments for multiple physicians in multiple specialties
* Manages multiple phone lines, prioritizes calls, and triages cases under pressure
* Obtains and electronically inputs patient demographics, schedules appointments using multiple electronic medical record systems
* Ensures equitable physician distribution and provides follow-up to patients and referral sources
* Develops and maintains good working relationships with physician offices and referral sources to increase referrals and resolve complaints

Requirements:

* High School Diploma or General Education Degree required
* One year of experience in healthcare or medical office
* Proficient in computer software programs, including Microsoft Excel and Word
* Ability to communicate clearly, efficiently, and effectively
* Ability to multi-task in high-stress situations
* Strong customer relations experience
* Maintains accuracy and organization of clerical data while adhering to HIPAA
* Performs basic medical research to triage cases appropriately
* Ability to learn quickly and remain flexible with changing protocols

Working Conditions:

* Works under general supervision
* Responsible for various shifts
* May be subject to over 40 hours per week and/or callback as required
* May be required to remain on campus immediately before, during, and after severe weather and/or disasters
