About the Role: We are seeking a skilled Recreation Therapist to join our team at the Behavioral Center of Michigan. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for providing activity therapy services to patients, including assessment, treatment planning, and discharge leisure planning.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To provide activity therapy interventions to patients in order to bring about positive changes in their behavior
  • To assess patients' needs and develop individualized treatment plans
  • To educate patients on healthy coping skills and available leisure resources
  • To collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care

Requirements: To be successful in this role, you will need a Bachelor's Degree in Therapeutic Recreation from an approved program, certification by the National Certification Board (NCTRC), and experience working in a psychiatric setting (preferred). You should also possess basic computer skills and be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Additional languages are a plus.

Compensation: The estimated annual salary for this position is $55,000 - $70,000, depending on your level of experience and qualifications.
