Covenant Physician Partners is seeking a skilled Optical Dispenser to join our team in Santa Ana, CA.
Key Responsibilities- Assist patients with selecting eyewear, taking facial measurements, and making adjustments to ensure a proper fit.
- Interview patients to determine their visual needs and interpret refractionist's prescriptions.
- Instruct and counsel patients on proper eyeglass care and enter prescription and sales information into our computerized system.
- Verify Optical Benefit coverage and dispense and adjust optical products.
- Inspect final products for accuracy and reconcile patient concerns to their satisfaction.
- Perform daily inventory of frames and accessories and conduct necessary shop work, including cutting, edging, dyeing, and mounting of lenses.
- Repair frames as required and complete all necessary forms.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2 years' experience as a dispensing optician strongly preferred.
- Graduate of an opticianry/optician training program or on-the-job training.
- ABO Certified and licensed preferred.
- Previous experience with Eligibility and Authorizations preferred.
- Ability to work Saturdays and good manual dexterity and ability to operate medical equipment.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and computer skills for use with electronic medical records and inventory system.
