Lead Supervisor of Teacher Education in Mathematics and Science
Salary Range:
A competitive estimate for a full-time role is between $70,295 and $91,719, contingent upon salary points. Compensation for courses taught during the Summer Session may differ from that of the academic year.
Percent Time:
Variable, determined by the assigned course load.
Position Duration:
Appointments are generally made for one or more quarters of the academic year, including fall, winter, and spring, with the possibility of Summer Session appointments.

Position Description:
The Education Department at the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) invites applications for a continuous pool of Lead Supervisors of Teacher Education in Mathematics and Science. Responsibilities encompass overseeing student teachers in middle and high school environments, which may include:
- Conducting seminars for beginning, intermediate, and advanced student teachers at the University.
- Participating in Education Department committees.
Supervisors are tasked with aiding credential candidates in completing a thorough assessment of their instructional practices in alignment with the California Teaching Performance Expectations. The department prepares approximately 60 credential students annually for careers in K-12 public education within California. The program also offers a Master of Arts in Education and operates on a year-round schedule.
UCSC, recognized as a Hispanic Serving Institution, serves a diverse population of students, many of whom are immigrants or children of immigrants. We are dedicated to inquiry-based teaching methodologies aimed at enhancing the education of linguistically and culturally diverse learners while promoting equity and social justice.
Supervisors of Teacher Education may hold full-time (100%) positions during the academic year, with appointments contingent on student enrollment and typically less than 100% time. Accepted candidates may also seek additional opportunities within the Education Department's Lecture Pool.

- Valid California Clear Single Subject Teaching Credential in Mathematics or Science.
- Teaching experience in K-12 educational settings.
