POSITION SUMMARY

The Reservations Clerk is responsible for managing all reservation inquiries, modifications, and cancellations received through various communication channels. This role involves understanding guest preferences and recommending suitable accommodation options. The clerk will confirm room availability and communicate policies regarding guarantees, special rates, and cancellations to guests. Special requests will be documented and accommodated whenever possible.

Additionally, the Reservations Clerk will provide information about the hotel's amenities and services, utilizing effective sales techniques to enhance revenue. Data entry and retrieval in the reservation system are essential, including the accurate coding of special room types such as complimentary stays and employee discounts. The clerk must follow established procedures for escalating guest concerns.

Adherence to company policies and maintaining a professional appearance are crucial. The clerk will ensure the confidentiality of sensitive information and safeguard company assets while respecting the privacy of guests and colleagues. A warm welcome and acknowledgment of all guests are expected, alongside proactive service to meet their needs. Effective communication skills are essential, including answering calls with professionalism and clarity.

Building positive relationships with team members and contributing to collective goals is vital. The clerk will also comply with quality assurance standards and perform physical tasks as needed, such as lifting and moving items weighing up to 10 pounds.
