Oncology Nurse Specialist

As an Oncology Nurse Specialist at Williamson Health, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and contributing to our mission of providing world-class, compassionate care to the residents of Williamson County and surrounding communities.
Key Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive assessments on all patients within the appropriate time of admission, utilizing skills of observation, communication, and examination.
Plan individualized patient care, identifying problems/needs, nursing diagnosis, standards of care/practice, interventions consistent with identified problems, and attainable outcomes.
Function independently with treatments, procedures, and equipment appropriate to areas, evidenced by adherence to policy, procedure, and competency-based assessment.
Handle, transport, store, prepare, and administer medications/solutions safely and in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
Requirements
Earned a nursing diploma or degree from a college or university.
Licensed in the State of Tennessee.
BLS within 90 days of hire.
ONS chemo/immunotherapy certification within one year of hire.
Work Environment
Adult oncology unit with patient population ranging from adult to geriatric.
Ability to work well under pressure, function dependently and independently, and be flexible in applying basic nursing knowledge to a variety of settings.
Physical Effort
Able to communicate in English verbally and legibly.
Requires prolonged standing and working for up to twelve hours a day.
Able to stand/work for up to twelve hours a day.
Able to lift with assistance up to 250 lbs.
