The estimated annual salary for this position is between $85,000 and $110,000, depending on experience and qualifications.

Job Description:

This Senior Accountant role involves working with the Accounting and Finance team to support the client in NW Houston, TX. The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of relevant accounting experience and expertise in JD Edwards and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the month-end close process, including preparing journal entries, balance sheet adjustments, allocations, and reversals.
  • Upload and consolidate financials, prepare supplemental reporting packages, and review work papers and/or journal entries prepared by staff accountants.
  • Support subsidiaries on accounting matters, including month-end close activities, developing SOX controls, and integration into the parent Company.
  • Reconcile and monitor high-risk liability, intercompany, and accrual accounts, as well as manage the Blackline account reconciliation application.
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors and stakeholders to ensure timely fulfillment of auditors' data requests.
  • Conduct variance analysis/commentary on financial statements and financial presentations, ensuring compliance with internal control policies in a SOX environment.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
  • CPA and/or Master's degree a decisive advantage.
  • Strong analytical skills, including a curious approach to tackling projects.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Highly attention to detail and proactive communication skills.
