Role Overview

Hiring for a Senior Financial Strategist position at Hamilton Health Box, a rapidly growing healthcare startup offering hybrid telemedicine-enabled primary care clinics nationwide.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will provide strategic financial leadership, manage the company's financial risks, and ensure accurate financial reporting and analysis as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). This role reports directly to the CEO and requires a deep understanding of financial operations, budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial planning initiatives in line with organizational goals.
  2. Participate in expense management directives to ensure departments operate within approved budgets.
  3. Establish long-term financial goals and implement the organization's financial strategy.
  4. Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling processes.
  5. Analyze financial performance, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
  6. Presentation of accurate and timely financial reports to internal and external stakeholders.
  7. Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax laws, and accounting standards.
  8. Manage cash flow, investments, and funding requirements.
  9. Identify and assess financial risks, mitigating potential impacts on the organization.
  10. Present financial updates and strategies to the Board of Directors and investors.
  11. Lead and mentor the finance team to achieve departmental and organizational objectives.
  12. Collaborate with executives to align financial plans with operational needs.
  13. Build relationships with external stakeholders, including investors, auditors, and financial institutions.
  14. Maintain adherence to financial laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
  15. Oversee tax planning and compliance activities.
  16. Additional responsibilities as assigned by senior management.

Requirements

Education & Experience:

  1. Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field required; MBA/CPA preferred.
  2. Master's degree in business or related field; MBA, Finance, Accounting, or economics preferred.
  3. Advanced knowledge of financial modeling, forecasting, and reporting tools.
  4. Experience in healthcare operations is desirable.
  5. Background in a startup or rapid growth environment is advantageous.

Required Skills & Abilities:

  1. A minimum of ten years of senior financial leadership experience preferably in Healthcare.
  2. A proven track record of strategic financial management and growth.
  3. Proficiency in financial software and tools.
  4. Exceptional communication skills and executive presence, including strong formal presentation skills.
  5. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports and contracts.
  6. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  7. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines and manage both short- and long-term projects.
  8. Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  9. Capacity to adapt to the needs of the organization and employees.
  10. Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate when necessary.
  11. Capacity to navigate and manage multiple parallel work streams and projects.
  12. Entrepreneurial spirit with an ability to thrive in a dynamic and changing environment and a passion for improving the health of underserved communities.

Salary Range

$150,000 - $200,000 per annum, commensurate with experience, along with benefits such as comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance; life insurance/AD&D, STD, LTD; 401(k) retirement plan; equity opportunities; generous paid time off, holidays, flexible scheduling options, professional development opportunities, executive coaching, and leadership training.
